Are you a high school or college student with a passion for technical theatre or stage management? Summer Stock Austin offers a one-of-a-kind experience to nurture your skills, work with professionals, and contribute significantly to the live theatre productions.
Crew Areas of Focus
SSA offers high school and college-aged crew members real-world, hands-on experience across several technical departments.
Help coordinate rehearsals and performances, track cues, manage props and run backstage operations as a ASM or PA.
Get hands on experience in carpentry, painting, and fabrication alongside professionals in the state of the art TPA Scene Shop.
Hang and focus lighting & projection instruments, program cues, operate follow spots, and support the electrics team through pre-show checks.
Assist in audio equipment set up and checks, manage mic changes, and learn about sound mixing for a live theatrical production.
Build and sew costume pieces, assist with costume fittings, styling wigs, maintaining makeup looks, and managing quick changes during shows.
Build, source, and maintain props used in performance; assist with tracking and backstage prep.
Learn about projection design and creation, assist in the installation and maintenance of projectors and related equipment.
Learn how to produce a season by assisting with marketing, fundraising, front of house, and accessibility initiatives.
